Hazardous Waste

Environmental Services | Hazardous Waste

As one of the region’s first providers of hazardous waste treatment and disposal services, MAX maintains a tradition of safe, secure and reliable hazardous waste management for industry and government. Our Yukon plant is the only facility in Pennsylvania that offers RCRA Subtitle C permitted hazardous waste treatment and on-site commercial disposal of residual waste. MAX’s treatment storage and disposal facility (TSDF) is permitted to accept a wide range of materials from construction and manufacturing industries, as well as from hazardous waste site cleanups. Our operations and facilities maintain an excellent record of compliance, and our seasoned staff has a long history of safe, reliable and responsive service.

Among our hazardous waste services:

Solidification and Stabilization

MAX uses our Solid Waste Stabilization and Solidification (SWSS) system to treat high volumes of soils, sludges and debris delivered in bulk or container for physical and/or chemical treatment.

Waste Disposal

Following treatment at our Yukon TSDF, waste rendered non-hazardous may be disposed of in our on-site landfill or to other area landfills.

Materials Crushing, Sorting and Screening

Our CAPB processes hazardous solids to meet specifications for proper treatment and disposal, as well as to segregate reclaimable materials.

Examples of wastes we routinely process at MAX include:

  • CRT glass
  • Soil
  • Slag
  • Sludges
  • Refractory
  • Various Debris (wood, cardboard, concrete, etc.)
