MAX Yukon Facility Waste Shipping Instructions
Transporters and Generators please review
- Waste acceptance hours – Transporters may not arrive at the facility before 7:00 am, all hazardous loads must have an appointment time, and no direct dumps after dark.
- MAX DOES NOT HAVE TRUCK SCALES AT OUR FACILITY. If you do not have shipment weight for waste, truck scales are located at the Smithton exit on I-70. Please stop and obtain required weight ticket before proceeding to MAX. Certified empty weight ticket is also required. Loads will not be accepted unless accompanied by weight tickets. Weight tickets must be current.
- The only permitted truck route is the one noted. Do not use Yukon exit #53. All trucks are limited to 20 miles per hour from I-70 to MAX plant. No Jake Brakes – please.
- The 10 ton posted weight limit from I-70 to MAX plant can be exceeded up to the legal limits for your vehicle, with a copy of the road bond.
- All waste deliveries must be scheduled with our dispatcher 24 hours in advance of delivery at (724) 722-3500 and arrive at scheduled times. Dispatch hours are 7:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday.
- Waste shipped to MAX must be properly contained to prevent leaks or spills. Waste transport vehicles must stop before leaving I-70 and check their dump trailer or roll-off container for leaks. If leaking, do not continue to MAX plant. All trailers, tri-axles, and roll-off containers must be tarped, have proper placards on truck, and current logbook. Transporters who abuse these requirements may be barred from the facility.
- Hazardous Waste Transporters must have a valid PA Transporter License. License must be produced along with manifest, LDR, weight tickets, etc. at MAX office upon arrival. Non-hazardous transporter must have PA Act 90 stickers on truck and trailer.
- All shipments of hazardous waste must be accompanied by a proper PA hazardous waste manifest. All hazardous and non-hazardous trucks must have proper placards.
- Appropriate clothing and safety equipment is required on MAX property. (hard hat, safety glasses, long sleeve shirt – no open or soft sole shoes or shorts)
- A GIS number must be supplied when scheduling loads and also inserted on all manifests in box #15.
- Waste must not contain any debris, unless previously approved. Waste with debris may be rejected or surcharged. Approved debris is limited to 2 feet.
- Driver warning reports – will be enforced.
