Set for a Decade

In 2005, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) renewed MAX Environmental Technologies, Inc.’s Permit for Hazardous Waste Treatment, Storage and/or Disposal Facility (No. PAD004835146). The permit expires on February 14, 2015. Under this permit, MAX is authorized to accept hazardous waste with the following RCRA classifications:

Allowable Quantities
MAX is permitted to accept up to 55 truckloads of hazardous waste per day. Five permitted and bonded container storage areas give MAX more than 6,000 tons of hazardous waste storage capacity. MAX can store an additional 2,400 tons of hazardous material in its containment building.

Each of MAX’s solid waste stabilization and solidification (SWSS) treatment units can treat up to 15 truckloads, or 360 tons, of hazardous waste per day, for a total unit throughput of 1,080 tons per day. The dust management system is capable of stabilizing 50 tons per hour, or 400 tons per shift, of K061 Electric Arc Furnace Dust, or other RCRA hazardous dust.
